One mile from the trail head you will encounter Landscape Arch. Landscape Arch is a must see feature of Arches National Park. Most hikers turn back after visiting Landscape Arch. However, we continued on though a primitive trail that starts and ends near Landscape Arch. It is not paved and takes some effort cross.

Here is a wide angle shot of the surrounding countryside. The primitive tail should not be traveled by those who are afraid of heights. You are required to go over one of the slick rock fins that will have a drop off of several hundred feet on each side.

At about 0.25 miles from the trail head you will encounter a spur trail to the right. This spur trail leads a short distance to Pine Tree Arch and Tunnel Arch. After checking out these arches return to the main trail. To the left is a picture of Tower Arch.
